Privacy Policy

1. Overview

RingMate ("the app", "we", "us") is an Android application published by Ramascript that turns alarms and reminders into incoming-call-style notifications with personalized voice messages. RingMate is designed to work fully offline, and the large majority of your data — reminders, caller profiles, and voice recordings — never leaves your device.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

• Reminders — title, time, repeat schedule, and category (e.g. Wake up, Study, Medicine).
• Caller profiles — a name, an optional photo, and a category you assign to each caller.
• Voice recordings — audio you record within the app, or audio files you import, to be played back when a reminder rings.

All of the above is created by you, inside the app, and is stored locally on your device using an on-device database. RingMate does not require you to create an account or provide your name, email address, or phone number to use the app.

Information collected automatically

• Diagnostic data — crash reports and basic device information (device model, Android version, app version) collected through Firebase Crashlytics, used to identify and fix bugs.
• Usage analytics — anonymized, aggregated interaction data collected through Firebase Analytics (such as which features are used), used to understand how the app is used and to improve it.

Neither of these services receives your reminders, caller names, photos, or voice recordings — that content stays on your device.

3. Permissions we request

• Notifications — to show reminders and the incoming-call screen.
• Alarms & reminders (exact alarm scheduling) — so your reminder rings at the exact time you set, not "around" that time.
• Run at startup — so scheduled reminders survive a phone restart.
• Microphone — only used when you choose to record a voice message inside the app; audio is saved locally and is never uploaded.

You can review or revoke any of these at any time from your device's system settings. Revoking a permission may stop the related feature (for example, reminders may not ring exactly on time without the alarm-scheduling permission) from working as intended.

4. How we use information

Information you create in RingMate is used solely to run the app's core functionality: scheduling and displaying your reminders, showing the caller you selected, and playing back the voice message you recorded. Diagnostic and analytics data is used only to monitor app stability and to guide future improvements.

5. Data storage & security

Reminders, caller profiles, and recordings are stored locally on your device and are not synced to any server in the current version of RingMate. Because this data lives on your device, its security also depends on your device's own lock screen and security settings. If you uninstall the app, this locally stored data is removed along with it.

6. Third-party services

RingMate uses the following third-party services for stability and analytics purposes:

• Firebase Crashlytics — crash and error reporting.
• Firebase Analytics — anonymized usage analytics.

Both are provided by Google. You can read Google's own privacy practices at policies.google.com/privacy.

7. Children's privacy

RingMate is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us so we can address it.

8. Your choices & rights

• You can edit or delete any reminder, caller profile, or recording at any time from within the app.
• You can revoke individual permissions (notifications, microphone, exact alarms) from your device's app settings.
• Uninstalling the app removes its locally stored data from your device.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time, for example as new features are added. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
